Dropbox, the cloud storage giant, has recently announced two new AI-powered tools and a $50 million venture initiative to boost its innovation and growth in the AI space.
Dropbox Dash: A universal search for all your content and apps
Dropbox Dash is an AI-powered universal search that will connect all your tools, content, and apps in a single search bar. You can use Dropbox Dash to quickly find and access files, emails, contacts, calendar events, and more from various platforms like Google Workspace, Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce, and others. You can also use Dropbox Dash to perform actions like sharing content, joining a meeting, or creating a document without leaving the search bar.
Dropbox Dash is currently available in English to select customers in beta. You can sign up for early access here.
Dropbox AI: A smart way to summarize and answer your content
Dropbox AI is another AI-powered tool that will help you get more out of your content by providing summaries and answers. Dropbox AI will apply natural language processing and computer vision to your file previews, one of the most highly trafficked web surfaces on Dropbox. You will be able to see key information extracted from your files, such as names, dates, locations, numbers, etc. You will also be able to ask questions about your files and get answers from Dropbox AI.
Dropbox AI for file previews is currently in alpha and is available in the US to all Dropbox Pro customers. It has also started rolling out to select Dropbox Teams to test. You can learn more about Dropbox AI here.
Dropbox Ventures: A $50 million fund to invest in AI startups
Dropbox has also launched Dropbox Ventures, a new $50 million venture initiative to propel the next generation of startups who are transforming how we work through innovations in AI. Dropbox Ventures will provide financial support and mentorship to early-stage startups that are building new AI-powered products that will shape the future of work. Dropbox Ventures will focus on areas such as content intelligence, collaboration, productivity, security, and infrastructure.
